Error Code 6 when running the Repair Conversion Engine – Handle Invalid

SYMPTOMS

This message may appear when trying to run the Repair Conversion Engine (after getting error Audit/Archiving Error 500018 – Problem converting to PDF format – Error code 1001).

CAUSE

You have not yet accessed Protector - Archiver from the main menu prior to producing your first Illustration/KFI and there is a missing file when you try to run the Repair Conversion Engine.

SOLUTION

To fix this error, search on your computer for the file FRAMEDYN.DLL (it is probably in c:\windows\system32\wbem). When you have found this file, copy it and save it into the C:\windows\system32 folder.

Now Run the Repair Conversion Engine:

Go into the Protector - Archiver from main menu. Then open My Computer, and go into the drive that Mortgage Brain is installed on (e.g. the C Drive). Open the MBL folder and then go into the MBARC folder. Double click on the file DataRep.exe (the Archiver Tools Utility). Now click on Repair Conversion Engine. This should take about 30+ seconds and should fix the problem.

This should resolve the problem.
