Invalid Validation Code

SYMPTOMS

This error may occur when attempting to register your MTE software if running Windows Vista

CAUSE

This is caused by the UAC (User Account Control) being enabled/turned on.

SOLUTION

To rectify this problem, do the following and make sure MTE is closed before going further.

Step1: Right mouse click over the MTE icon, select Properties from the menu and left click on the 'Open file Location' button (in shortcut tab).

Step2: This will open up the MBL directory, you need to locate the file named: mbcon(.exe)

Step3: Once you've located the file, left click on it once to highlight it, and hit the delete button on your keyboard to delete the file.

Step4: Once this is done, we have to turn off UAC on this computer.

To turn off UAC (User Account Control) on Windows Vista please follow these steps:

Step 1: Click on Start Button >Control Panel

Step2: Open 'User Accounts' and then click on 'Enable or disable UAC'

Step3: Untick the tick box

Step4: Click on the Apply button and restart the Pc when prompted

Once this is done, log into MTE and then register, This should rectify the problem. Once you have successfully registered your MTE software, you can switch the UAC back on.
